Sick Baby

My poor baby is sick! :(

I think she must have gotten it from her classmate. Why I say so is because I have noticed a little boy with mucus streaming down from his nostrils during her first day at the school. Guess this is something I have to accept when putting her there. Thinking positively, it can help her to build up stronger immunity.

My baby now is having a hard time breathing cos the mucus keeps bulding up and she doesn't know how to blow it out, eventhough I have tried to teach her many times. As a result she had to breathe heavily through her mouth. She also keeps coughing away. There is so much phelgm in her throat that she has to keep swallowing since she also does not how to expel it. She coughed so much and so hard that you can see her face turning red everytime. And everytime after coughing, she looks like she wanted to puke,but nothing comes out. Worse still, she is having a fever and the temperature keeps swinging up and down.

We tried to feed her medicine but she does not want to take it. She would shut her mouth tightly or keeps turning away from the spoon or syringe. Even if we forcefully pour the medicine into her mouth, she would throw out. In order to get her to take the medicine, we really have to try all means and ways. For example, we put the medicine in a styrofoam cup and mix it with some water. This makes her think that it is some kind of yummy drink, just like Yakult which she loves. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. We just have to keep coming up with different tricks everytime.

It is so painful for me and my hubby to see her suffering in pain. It is every parent's nightmare to see your dear child ill yet we can't do much about it. I hope and pray that this nightmare will be over soon.
