Sick Baby Part Deux

God must have heard my prayer. My darling is finally getting better.

Last nite, my hubby and I got a scare when we could feel from her forehead that her fever went up again. This is confirmed by the termometer which shows her having a temperature of 38.5 degrees celcius. We got so worried and we almost wanted to rush her to KK hospital. In case we were overreacting, my hubby called up the emergency hotline and made some enquiries, to see if we should make the trip.

The nurse told him to continue to monitor her, and if the temperature reaches 39 degrees celcius, then we should bring her down immediately. So we fed her some paracetamol and watched over her until about 3 am.

This morning, we were so tired as we did not have any good sleep. My baby was so agitated in her sleep, that she keeps kicking us throughout the whole night. We felt like we are the most abused parents in the world.:(

Nonetheless, we are so relieved to feel that her fever is gone, and she seems slightly better than before. At least her fever is gone. She also seemed to have resumed her usual active and energetic self.

However, we saw that she is still having runny nose and incessant cough. As we are unsure whether the temperature is gone for good, to play safe, we decided to let her see the dr again. This time, the dr gave her antibiotics and stronger cough medicine.

After taken the medicine in the morning, she seems better by afternoon, despite her rough voice and a few coughs. To ensure that she takes her medicine, we actually bought her a fancy plastic glass which has a spiral straw attaching to it. We mix the medicine with juices, and used the glass to trick her into thinking it is some kind of delicious beverage inside. It actually works! She slurped all up in a jiffy.

I do not care how much I have to spend on these things to make her well, as long as my baby is back in pink health, that's all I ask for. I believe all parents would think the same way too.
