The Diary from Teacher

After second day at her school, I was surprised to find a note book in Chevonne's book in the evening. Upon reading the foreword, then I understand this islike a diary which is their way of commmunicating with parents by keeping updated about their child's progress, and any other matters requiring their attention such as upcoming events. Parents, are also welcomed to write a note on the book, if there is anything they wish to let the teacher know.

So from the journal, I get to know that:

- my baby is doing fine in adapting to the new enviroment (phew! was so worried that she would be crying away.)
- she loves to play especially car ride. (not surprised to know.. but good to know)
- eating fine but not drinking enough water cos she seems to be more interested in her classmates' bottles (which i found out why after talking to the teacher. she keeps wanting to take other kids' drinking cups cos she tot they are using her cup which is similar in design.:P)
- she has not pooped in the morning.
- they have changed her diapers at 9.30 am, 12 pm, 3 pm, and 6 pm.(to let me know that they have acted promptly upon my request for more regular change of diapers.)

Isn't it nice? I have never expected them to do such thing at all! I thought at most the teacher will just give you a brief verbal update when you are there to collect your child. But a journal?!! Gosh, I am blown away. It is not easy to write a journal with that kind of details for each and every kid in the class. For your info, there are about 14 toddlers in her class. And the form teacher actually has to write for each and everyone of them! So you can imagine the efforts she has to put in. I am touched and so very impressed by the standard of their service.

After reading her note, I wrote to her a thank you note. I thanked her for the efforts she has to put in to keep me updated. And I asked her to feel free to bring up any problem which she may need my help for with regards to my child.

This morning, I brought a box of mooncake to her as a token of appreciation. She is is delighted with surprise.:)
