A Soft Lump on Chevonne's Head

Yesterday as my mum was brushing Chevonne's hair, I noticed a lump on her head. Curious, we touched it and were concerned that it is very soft, and we could not feel the skull bone beneath. In addition, there are no bruises at all so we are not too sure whether that was caused by accident or something else.

Not willing to take chances, we brot her to see a paediatrician today. After some examination, he also couldn't say for sure it might be a swelling. To be on the safe side, he advised us to bring her to the hospital for a ultrasound scan afterwards.

We arrived at the hospital 3 hrs later. The radiologist has some difficulties in scanning the lump at the corner of her forehead since it is curvateous, not flat surface. The difficulty is further compounded by Chevonne's turning her head just when the radiologist need to freeze and capture the picture. When all my attempts to distract her fails, I decided to sing "Twinkle Twinkle Little Stars" to her. And true to what I thought, she kept still and start busily mimicking the stars with her hands.

After a few songs of TTLS, we finally completed the whole procedure. The radiologist took some look at the pictures and said it should be just a blood clot caused by knocking. However, she suggested that we monitor it for a week and if things do not improve, we would have to bring her back to the dr.

Now my mind is at peace knowing that it is no serious matter. I will keep my fingers crossed and pray that the swell will go away.
