Before Gabriel was born, we were a little worried about Shiya's adaptation to his arrival. We thought that the little spoilt brat, who has been so used to everyone's undivided attention, would get jealous and competitive with her younger bro for attention.
To our surprise, none of these actually happened. On the contrary, Shiya has been showering him with lots of tender loving care. She likes to hug and kiss him and pat his head. She also kept saying "Didi so cute!"
There were 1 or 2 occasions when Shiya wasn't sure of my love for her as I get a little caught up with caring for her little. She asked me, "Mummy likes Didi huh?" I would answer her " I love didi and I also love Shiya". To that, she would beam with a smile.
We thought Shiya would start behave like a baby, as we were made to believe so from other's exeriences. Till now, she has not behaved so, and in fact we saw her trying to step up as a big sister. She would try to help us, in her little ways, to care for the baby such as pacifying him when he cries, playing with him when he's awake, fetching mummy a little stool for her tired feet, bringing a hanky for baby when he is feeding.
For a little person, she sure has been a big help!
