Somehow, my interest in celebrating this used to be monotonous festive season has renewed after so many years. It think this is due to my desire in creating a more interesting CNY for my little girl who is so filled with wonder.
I have bought some new LNY decor to decorate the house which I have not done so for some years. And to let her soak in the ambience of LNY, I bought a children's VCD of CNY songs. She is so intrigued by the video- the songs, dance, lion dance, the little girls wearing nice traditionlal clothes, the ang pows, firecrackers and so on. These are things she has never seen before. She loves to watch it so much that we have to keep it playing until we started to get headaches hearing them.
Her shopping addict mother, has always been buying new clothes for her throughout the year. Initially, I tried to control myself from buying anymore for CNY cos there were so many new clothes she has yet to wear. But in the end I couldn't resist! With the lame excuse of "must buy new clothes for new year" ,I bought one set of traditional CNY dress, and 4 more sets of clothes for her. So much for controlling myself! :P
