Today, I took leave to bring my girl to East Coast to spend an idyllic day together.
Being a weekday, there is no crowd to jostle with for walking space. So my girl almost has all the beach to herself
First we went to a Japanese Restaurant for lunch. I ordered a kids lunch set for her yet she refused to take a bite. It had been so frustrating to feed her. She yelled and cried as if I am trying to poison her everytime I put the spoon to her mouth. Luckily it was a small restaurant and there are not many patrons around. Those who were there were nice enough not to give us stares... or else I will have to dash out with the little terror without finishing the food. Finally I gave up and ate it all. :(
Then we went to 7 Eleven to buy some beach toys for her. We then proceed to the beach where she had a great time digging and scooping the sand, and strew it all over the place (and ourselves). By the time she finally got tired, we were all covered with sand.
After a quick washup at McDonald's, we headed to Coffee and Tea Leaf (Mommy needs a break too, you know). I had a good quiet time sipping the latte while the little terror suddenly becomes an angel as she happily munching away her rice crackers. Her behaviour was a far cry from that at the Jap restaurant.
I must say it is really enjoyable to spend time by the beach when there is not many people around. I think I will go there again should I took leave the next time. It is good for kids to get in touch with nature more often. :)

when raph can walk, we can go together!
Its quite tiring to bring him out now as he needs to be carried very often.
yeah man! it is more fun when there is more company. wait till raph can walk (i believe it won't it won't be too long since he is coming to 1 yr old), we will go there together during one of the weekdays. We mommies will sit by the beach, chatting idly over a nice cup of coffee, while watching the little ones busy making the sand castles!*dreaming*
