We decided to put Chevonne in childcare centre when she turned 18 mths old.
It was not an easy decision but we had to do it.The thought of putting her in childcare centre has never enter my thought until my patience runs out with my parents in laws, who are now taking care of her. Please don't be mistaken that my PILs are bad caregivers, they are good except for one thing... and it is one very BIG thing to any parent.
My PILs have a bad habit of not closing the window grilles in the kitchen.
In fact I had noticed it since the day Chevonne was born. But I never really made an issue out of it then, cos I tot she was too young anyway. But now, she is like a monkey! One minute you will see her climbing up on the chair, the next minute she was up on to the table. How can I not helped but worry that she may fall off from the window one day?!
Once, I casually reminded my FIL to remember to shut the grilles. To my shock, he actually denied it, saying that it is "always" closed! I can't believe it!
Thereafer, whenever we bring up the matter, they would say their eyes are always on her so we need not worry. How can I not worry? Accidents can happen anytime! Haven't we seen many times in newspapers about kids fall off from the flat due to the carelessness of the caregivers or parents?
Patiently, me and my hubby had been reminding them, not just once, but for umpteen times, in the past few mths. As our patience began to run thin two mths ago, we decided to tell them that they have to close the grilles or we will put her in childcare centre, thinking this tactic might help since they love her so much.
Guess what? We still saw the grilles wide open just 2 weeks ago!
That's it! We are going to put her in childcare centre! And they can open all their windows for all I care.
